Oxford Botanic Garden Christmas Fair

Our Christmas Fair returns to Oxford Botanic Garden for two days of festive shopping and entertainment. We are delighted to be joined by a variety of local craftspeople, suppliers, and producers, showcasing everything from vintage homewares and handmade linen to organic skincare and foodie gifts.

On Saturday 2 December, Fleur Stevenson will bring festive cheer to the Garden with Christmas favourites and jazz classics, and Natty Mark Samuels will present his interactive Guavaberry workshops, celebrating the flora of Caribbean and African folklore and the culinary pleasures of Christmas through music and festive games. On Sunday, Horns of Plenty will get your toes tapping with their lively tunes.

There’ll be plenty of delicious food and drink on offer from local suppliers and producers, including Spectacular Goat, Fallow & Field, Crafty Belle, Church Hanbrewery, and Jericho Coffee Traders. Our Conservatory Bar will be serving festive favourites including mulled wine.

Children can explore the Garden with our Christmas Pudding trail where they’ll learn about the fruits and spices of the festive season. They can also meet Mother Christmas in WhatNot Theatre's magical winter grotto where they can tell her all of their Christmas wishes and leave with a special sealed scroll. Plus, have a go at the Friends’ Tombola or find out all about mistletoe with the ‘MistleGO!’ survey project.

Rachel began her career as a photo editor producing shoots for glossy magazines, a job she loved. But when the time came for a rethink, after swopping London for the Cotswolds she decided to fly solo, utilising her passion for all things creative and her business experience Rachel launched Kids Arcade. Kids Arcade is THE go-to pop-up for totally stylish but ethically produced kids wear and apparel. It’s been a big hit in the Cotswolds with her pops-ups gaining a huge traction. After moving Kids Arcade online during lockdown she was ready to get out and back into a physical retail space.

Her passion for finding and supporting small British brands, discovering new ones and love of events led her to Annabel and together they have set up The Curated Store.

Rachel brings to the partnership her unique creative eye, production skills, a deep understanding and experience of the pop-up space, but most importantly empathy towards small brands because she is one herself!

FIONA CHIVERS POP-UP

THURSDAY 6TH OCTOBER – SUNDAY 16TH OCTOBER

Anthropologie is delighted to announce that its next exhibition at the King’s Road Gallery will feature the multi-talented artist, Fiona Chivers.

Raised in Oxford – and with experience in theatre design and performance – Fiona’s artistic repertoire is every bit as varied as it is impressive. Now, living and painting in Cornwall, she creates stunning watercolours, inkwork and fine art prints, capturing her breath-taking surroundings. For this pop-up event, Fiona will be showcasing a series of paintings exploring the botanical wonders of South Cornwall. Expect to see a number of ocean creatures, coupled with swimming women, set against the striking backdrop of the Cornish coastline. As well as her original artwork and prints, Fiona will be taking commissions for her beautiful 3D botanicals

(and other limited edition treasures).

Fiona will also be creating a live painting along the gallery wall, and leading a host of workshops

open to customers. In these sessions, she’ll be teaching a variety of skills, from watercolour to ink painting, colourwork to composition. Additionally, there’ll be an opportunity to craft bespoke paper botanicals, transforming paper sheets into miniature potted plants. To sign up, see here.

This enchanting pop-up will run from the 6th until the 16th of October, where Fiona will be on-hand to discuss her pieces (and where you can observe her in her element – painting!).
